Laptops/Desktop Computers: Once we receive your device, we’ll erase the storage component (usually a hard drive or solid-state drive) using specialist software. We provide you with a data destruction certificate. If the storage component is damaged, we’ll physically destroy it. A sample erasure certificate is available on request.

Mobile Phones: We’ll wipe the data ensuring that no data can be recovered from the device.  If the device doesn’t power on, we’ll remove the motherboard and destroy the storage component.

SD Cards: We’ll wipe the data stored on the SD cards using specialist software and provide you with a data destruction certificate. If the SD card is non-functional, we’ll physically destroy it.

SIM Cards: We’ll physically destroy SIM cards.

It depends on the age, condition and type of device. We prioritise the refurbishment and reuse of devices where possible, we refurbish the device and sell it to a new owner.

If the device can’t be refurbished, we’ll salvage usable parts so they can be used to fix other devices. Finally, the remainder of devices will be sent for precious metal recovery.
