Refurbished IT Equipment that doesn't cost the earth.
ABOUT US
Refurbished Laptops. Done Right.

Founded in 2022, Enviro IT is a Bristol-based IT refurbishment business offering affordable refurbished laptops and spare parts.

We’re currently based on the UWE Frenchay Campus, with our shop located in the Sustainability Hub (1D015) open on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am-4.30pm.

The business was started by Sam, a UWE Entrepreneurship graduate who is determined to end improper IT disposal practices. Enviro IT has received several awards including the UWE Venture Ready Award (2023 & 2024) and most recently, the 2025 UWE Entrepreneurial Futures Award.

In 2024, we partnered with the Student’s Union at UWE to offer an affordable laptop scheme for students and staff. Find out more about the scheme here.

We’re on a mission to bring affordable technology to all.

Enviro IT works with IT Recyclers and Clearance companies to source equipment that can be refurbished and reused. Each laptop is meticulously inspected, refurbished and tested with industry standard tools before sale. Every refurbished product we sell comes with a warranty for peace of mind.

All of our refurbished laptops come with Windows 11 installed to ensure maximum security and compatibility with apps.

Currently, our laptops start at just £150!

About Sam

Sam founded Enviro IT after eight years of hands-on experience in refurbished technology. He began at 16 in Devon with Dartmoor Computer Recycling, repairing and reselling desktop computers as a part-time venture.

In 2022, he joined UWE’s Team Entrepreneurship programme and integrated his business activity into his studies. He later co-founded OMS Tech, which delivered on-campus laptop and mobile phone recycling in partnership with UWE’s Sustainability Department.

His focus shifted toward social impact during the 2024 Student Ventures Summer Scholarship, leading him to establish Enviro IT. That same year, he partnered with the UWE Students’ Union to pilot a recycling scheme for defective IT-department devices, supplying students with reliable, affordable laptops. This pilot reflects his core motivations: reducing e-waste, improving access to technology, and building practical solutions with measurable impact.
